Why Racquetball is a great way to lose weight

When people think of ways to lose weight, the first thing that usually comes to mind is to go to a gym or embracing a rigorous regime. Since both are relatively difficult compromises, most people end up putting your weight loss initiative indefinitely, until a time when they are "free". Since that did not happen, any more than weight loss. If you are the victim of a thought process as such, it is time to change. Consider other interesting and fun ways, and just as effective for weight loss, such as racquetball.

Racquetball Why?

Racquetball is a sport similar to squash and requires quick turns, speed and agility. Having hit the ball, you have to get to the position immediately and be ready to jump again. As you can imagine, this really gets your heart rate jump! In fact, racquetball is an excellent cardiovascular exercise. It also helps to improve flexibility, strength and muscular endurance.

You may think that this sport is only for those who are already very fit and strong. This is not true at all. Even if you just play at your level of fitness and ability, whatever it is, you will gain all the benefits of cardiovascular and strength sport. Remember, every exercise or sport is to be done only in their physical abilities. It is best if you can find a partner who is more or less at their level, or if the competition is not your goal, you can even play alone.

How many calories burned?

If you want to get specific numbers directly, to know exactly how effective racquetball is to lose weight, consider the huge chunk of calories burned. According to the Mayo Clinic, a 160 pounds should be able to burn about 511 calories in moderate Racquetball hour. The number rises to 637 calories for a 200 pounds and 763 pounds for a person 240 pounds. These figures stacked very well, since it is only the "moderate" intensity! Also, when you play sport regularly, the muscles become stronger and increase your overall metabolic rate so you burn more calories, even at rest.

Racquetball and Weight Loss - What do the numbers say

These figures clearly indicate why racquetball is a great way to lose weight. If you play sports only 3-4 times a week, one hour each time, you may lose 12-13 pounds in three months! People around the world spend a lot of pain to lose a lot of weight. Of course, weight loss will happen only if you control your diet too. This does not mean you have to follow a strict diet. Just eat healthy and avoid refined and processed foods as much as possible, and you're on the right track.

Lots of fun!

Racquetball is a sport rather than exercise, a great advantage with it is that it becomes monotonous. In a gym, it is suffering with an hour of exercise, and most people just wait for it to get more. A sport, though, it's fun. You will be more motivated and more likely in the long term, to maintain regular discipline.

Therefore, if you have decided to start with racquetball to lose weight, it's a great idea! Just make sure you ten minutes of stretching before and after the game there to prevent injuries.
