My Gastric Bypass Story - Before and After Weight Loss Surgery

Sometimes it's hard to believe how much my life has changed before and after gastric bypass surgery. And the weight loss is only a small part thereof.

Of course, I lost £ 130. I went from a size 24 to between 8 and 10. But in reality, the most important changes were inside.

If you have ever considered to have a loss surgery weight, you've probably wondered about these changes, and what it would be like. Are all good and some are bad? How will you be different before and after gastric bypass surgery?

Before the gastric bypass surgery, I was self-conscious and embarrassed when meeting strangers. Then, I became comfortable with my body and really enjoy meeting new people. I do not feel like the first thing that people notice my weight.

Before I looked at myself as a kind of failure. I felt like being overweight was a character flaw. After gastric bypass surgery, I knew how to look beyond my weight and work out what is inside.

Before gastric bypass surgery was often too tired to play with my kids. Then I have the energy I need to keep up with them. In fact, I have energy to spare for many things than ever before.

Before I could eat what I wanted when I wanted. But the appetite and cravings are more in control of what it was. After gastric bypass surgery, it is sometimes difficult to find things that I want to eat. My appetite is definitely not in control - it is sometimes difficult to find, even. My relationship with food has changed.

Before gastric bypass surgery was worrying about things I ate. Then I make sure I have all the vitamins, proteins and fluid my body requires daily. In fact, I have to think about what is happening in my mouth now. But first, I tried to keep things so I can lose weight. Then I'm constantly trying to get enough to stay healthy.

I used to think that gastric bypass surgery was "the easy way out." This is automatically thin if I did. Then I learned that surgery is only a tool and results I get will depend on how you use.

Before the gastric bypass surgery was young skin under my clothes look. That may have stretch marks, but my skin looked normal for my age. Then, my skin looks like a cross between a melted candle and a deflated balloon. Of course, just me and my husband do not see that. And I see much better than before with clothes on.

Before, eating out with my family was a joy, a part of the fabric of our lives. After gastric bypass surgery, eating out has become stressful and difficult. Nothing is worse than watching a menu and see nothing that will not make you download. Unless, of course, to ask for something that comes and sick. A real brake is on the food of the world.

Finally, before gastric bypass surgery was a time bomb. Hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea, any number of other health risks were on my horizon because of my excess weight. Then I'm much healthier and have a significantly lower risk of developing any of hypertension to cancer.

I look different, I feel different inside and outside. Some of the changes before and after gastric bypass surgery were good, others not. But for me, everyone is a change worth making.
